Father's Day in Kenai, AK

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, we were going to church today, which we did.  Had a young lady from the Alaska Synod do the sermon (regular pastor is on vacation).  She was a pastor at Central Lutheran in Anchorage for 7+ years and is now Director for Evangelical Mission for the Alaska Synod.  She was good.

After the service (we didn't stay for coffee) we went to the Hardware and Fishing Store (yes, that's the name) and picked up two gold pans and an electric mosquito racket.

Takes two AA batteries and kills them on the spot.  In 2011 we never bought one because the mosquitoes weren't bad at all.  And, they haven't been bad here until just last night.  Around 9 PM we decided to walk over to Jack and Karen's trailer to wish him a Happy Father's Day, and, we felt like we were being eaten alive!!
The racket was half price this weekend - $6.99.

From there we went back to the bakery for some delicious apple/raisin fritters.

Doughnuts and belly laughs!

As I mentioned before, they are known for their moose 'gift shop', and, of course, their bakery goods.

They also have some brochures about "The Baker's Dozen, Moose Facts, and The Moose is Loose Stress Diet.  Here is the diet brochure:

Thought you might enjoy that!!

Okay, enough for today.
