1st Alaskan Stop - Tok

We arrived at our CG in Tok on the 31st of May, one day early.  We had a nice site in the trees.  We got setup and relaxed the rest of the day.
The next day we went in to find the Visitor Center and picked up many, many brochures about Alaska.  Went to lunch at a place called "Fast Eddys."  We both had sandwiches - croissiant, and hoagie - they were so big we took half home for later.  They also had a fruit pie - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, and RHUBARB!  So we took a piece of that for later as well!!
This CG has live entertainment a couple days a week thru out the summer so we went to it.  Here is a picture of the group:

The man on the right, Dave Stancliff is the leader of the group and is a life-long resident of Tok.  He has been singing for years, but just last year, started singing with the brother/sister duo below:

They call themselves "Alaska Sweetgrass."  This year will be their first full year together.  The other girl in the first picture just started playing with them that night and will be playing occasionally with them.
We thoroughly enjoyed their music and bought two CD's that they had just recorded.
If we come back thru Tok, we will stay at this CG again and hope to catch another performance!!

Ok, you have been in Alaska for a few days now. Where are the updates? Are you bored yet?
