Life Around the Campground

Yesterday, Wednesday, we spent the day at the CG.  Got up late.  The weather here is still very changeable - usually cool in the AM (low 50's) and then warms up to around 60-65.  But almost always cloudy with the sun peaking out occasionally.
We worked in the afternoon from 3 to 7 - Judy and Emma were in the office and I was outdoors.  Earl, the owner had to do some upgrading of his playground or lose his insurance.  The whole areas had to be in sand.

So, he started on Wednesday digging up the grass around the swings, slides, etc.  He has a small Gator tractor with a small bed on back (you can see it in the first picture in the upper left corner - click on the picture and you can see it a little better) so he would dump about 3 small loads in it and then have to drive over to the edge of the CG to dump it.  Very slow process for one person.  With me helping, we were able to get a lot more moved faster.  I didn't take any pictures yesterday, but took a couple today.

Now the sand has to be spread out and then some landscape logs put all the way around it.  A lot of work left to be done.  (Fortunately, I don't work again until Saturday!!).

Last night after work we decided to cook out again.  We had corn on the cob, beans, and hamburgers on the grill.

After we ate, we tried to keep the fire going by finding more wood in the tree line behind us.  This picture is really poor because Emma was moving, but I wanted to show that she spent most of the time looking for wood and would then come back and throw it into the fire.  She (and we) had a fun time!!

More later...
