Day 1 – Tuesday, May 31st.
Fortunately, the rain has stopped (for today anyway). We got up early, prepared everything for
travel and pulled the trailer out from our site. Had to do some raking afterwards due to the
ruts that we made when we pulled in last March.
Drove to the RV Store and got the trailer inspected. Then off on our adventure!
Only drove to Marshall, TX (about 200 miles) because we
didn’t leave Plano until after 10 and we wanted an easy first day. Well, we got to the CG around 1:30!! Anyway, we got setup and got both A/C’s
running because the trailer gets hot going down the road. After awhile we noticed water dripping
heavily from the A/C in the kitchen. Checked
the filter – it was black. While Judy
cleaned it, I ran the A/C again without the filter and it seemed to run
fine. Put the filter back and after
awhile it started dripping again.
Fortunately, I knew what the next step was and that was to
clean out the drip pan in the A/C. So,
up on the top of the trailer, take the cover off, and then dismantle the inner
cover (20 screws later), find that the drain holes are plugged, clean them out
good, and then put everything back together again. Took about an hour and the sun cooperated by
staying behind some clouds most of the time.
We now have AIR.
Next stop - Meridian, MS
