Of course, no trip is complete without a tour of a brewery. This brewery is just about 1 mile from our CG.
They sold these in their gift shop: Pickled Fiddlehead Ferns!!
Our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable.
We did sample their beers - I like the lighter ones and Judy likes the DARKEST!!
In the afternoon we decided we would take the bus to see Thunder Hole which is a rocky formation along the coast line. When the tide is coming in, it can sound like thunder.
However, when we looked at the bus schedule, we realized that that particular bus route stops in mid afternoon, and, we wouldn't be able to get downtown to catch that bus. So we decided to drive. and drive we did. We missed the cutoff and had to drive all the way around and start over again. This time we did watch where we were going and found it.
We really didn't hear thunder but we stayed for quite awhile watching the waves come in. Occasionally, there would be some big swells and the water would almost splash us. It was a cool place. Several families come out here, sit on the rocks, have something to eat, and watch the tides. What better thing to do on a Saturday evening??
Sunday is our last day here and it is raining. But we decide to take the bus into town one last time. We walked up and down the streets again and found a restaurant that sells Whoopie Pies. Apparently they are a Maine tradition so we bought one for later.
We did some shopping (what else) and then settled for our LAST taste of Black Raspberry ice cream!! Yum Yum!!
Next stop - Canada!!
