And More Puerto Penasco

Trailer is finally finished!!

Looks great.  Unfortunately we can't wash or wash it for at least two weeks. But it does look good.

Went clamming with the group on Wednesday before we left.  Low tide was around 8 AM so we left the CG about 7:15.  The bay where they wanted to go was only about 10 minutes away.

Here is the group, ready to head out.

Judy had a long rake and I had a short one.  After about an hour, I could hardly get up so I started sitting on the pail.  After a short while, it cracked so that was the end of that!

Later on, I used Judy's long rake.

The group did get a lot of clams and they will be cleaning them tomorrow.

In the evening we met for a short happy hour and then all walked down to the Playa Bonita Hotel for dinner since we will be leaving in the morning.  Had a great meal with a great group of people.

Sally and Mike:

Larry and Maureen:

Theresa and Dave:

Shelley and Murray:

 Bill and Elysa:

And yours truly:

We were entertained.

Pirate ship in the bay.

This is called a cactus bowl with everything baked in a stone bowl in a brick oven.  It had cactus, beef ribs, shrimp, avocado, cilantro, chicken.  It was very good.  The couple couldn't eat it all.

Judy had a shrimp plate.

I had a Mexican platter.

It was a great evening, and, when we got back to the trailers, we said our goodbyes and talked about meeting up again next year.

Thursday morning we got closed up and hitched up.  Had to back the truck up to the trailer at almost a 90 degree angle to get out of our site.  Fortunately we had an end site or we would not have been able to get out due to the tight spaces.  But we made it.

Left the CG around 9 AM and started toward the border.  Met up with another traveler shortly after leaving so we followed them the whole way.  They knew the speed limits better than we did.  At the border they took our passports and checked us out and that was it.  No hassles.

Once across the border we passed thru Why and Ajo again and then had a flat tire on the trailer about 20 miles north of Ajo.  Found a place to pull off and put on the spare.  Then drove to Gila Bend where we found "Petey's Tire Shop" and he put in a new valve stem and remounted the tire and then we were on our way again.

Got to Mesa, AZ and our CG, Towerpoint RV Park around 4:30, got setup and 'collapsed' for the evening.
