Jeff and Susan took us around Puerto Penasco. Went to the Malecon (local mall but not what we would call a mall, just a lot of shops along both sides of the street). Very busy place. They wanted to get some shrimp so we did too. Many shops along this street selling seafood. Jeff likes these guys.
We got 3 lbs of shrimp, cleaned and shelled for $20.
Jeff has been having some teeth issues and decided that they needed to leave and go back home to his dentist.
So we went out to dinner on Sunday night. They
picked the restaurant. Nice Mexican place. Here is what they like – a sampler.
For desert we had fried ice cream.
On Monday we all went to a place called “Dukes”. Their specialty on Mondays is a $2.50
cheeseburger with fries for $1 more and $2.00 for a drink. $11.00 for the two of us. And they took our credit card as well.
On the way (somewhere) we passed a Jewish Synagogue.
We also visited a bakery.
If you didn’t know it was there, you would never find it. By the time we got there, there was not a lot
of goods left, but we did watch a guy taking rolls out of the fire pit.
Visited this store(?). As you can see, there are three floors of 'stuff.' Inside is aisle after aisle of merchandise - from iron works to figurines to cups to...
Absolutely overwhelming!!
Someone's house along the way.
Horses and rides are popular along the beach.
The ladies had crafts - here are some finished products.
On another day we all went to the 'Dirt Mall.' They call it that because the road used to be dirt, but it is now paved.
We made reservations for next year at another RV Park down
the beach. The others like this park
better so that is where we will be going.
In case you were wondering how the painting is going, here
are some pictures.
These show most of the decals taken off already.
Finished papering the trailer on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday he started the actual painting, but had to quit around noon due the winds. But, now, around 4 PM he is painting again. The neighbor behind us is watching him and suggesting that the wind is too strong!!
No pictures of the finished product yet.
Just outside the campground are some typical houses.
And, of course, at many street corners are those who want to entertain you or wash your windows, etc. for a small fee.
We are enjoying this area very much - so different from our lifestyle!!
