On Thursday, 7/13, we left Cape May and drove all of about 110 miles north to a campground in Freehold, NJ called Turkey Swamp State Park. We like this park as it is the closest to Hightstown/East Windsor where our friends live.
This is a picture of a bridge across a waterway out to the Atlantic.
That night we met up with Marilyn Anker (school mate of Belinda's) and had dinner with Marilyn and her Mom.
On Friday Russ and Elvira Diefenbach (friends since we lived here in the 80's.
Their daughter, Denise, her husband, Joe, and kids, Asiah and Sabrina were in town and were celebrating Sabrina's birthday.
Russ and I drove up to the Newark airport to pick up our daughter, Julie, who came in for a wedding (later in the blog).
Joe and Denise and family live in Az and drove up here towing a trailer. And their dog came along!!
This is a family family picture of the Diefenbachs. John is on the left and his wife, Kim, is in front with Denise. Next to John is Elvira's brother, Martin. Next to him is Russ (holding Sabrina) and Elvira on the right holding Asiah.
We surprised Julie on Saturday morning by having Larry (Jr) come down from MA for the wedding.
Saturday was the wedding rehearsal for Ashley and Sean. We went because Ashley wanted Judy to read some Bible verses. After the rehearsal we went over to Skip and Diane Cox's house (Ashley's parents) for snacks and drinks.
We were invited to the rehearsal dinner but opted instead to out to dinner with Julie and Larry.
On Sunday we went to church. Julie took this selfie of us.
The bride.
The reception was great. We got to meet more church people and catch up.
The time went by way too fast. We always find that it is hard to leave here.
Anyway, we are now in MA with Larry, Jacky, and Hannah enjoying a week with them.
