Fish Creek is west of Hyder about 4 miles on just about the worst road we have ever been on!
They have built observation decks all along the creek here because the salmon do spawn in this area, and, of course, bears come to feast on them.
We came out here three times but only saw one bear. And it was raining each time. You just never know when they decide to eat. A grizzly and her cub have been coming here, but we never got to see them.
We did see this black bear.
Here I am, just waiting for more.
Very popular site as you can see.
The following pictures were taken along the road before our breakdown and then afterwards during our trips into Stewart.
We hope to see more as we leave Prince Rupert and work our way back to the CG to get our trailer.
Hi Larry and Judy,
ReplyDeleteI just got caught up with your posts for the last few weeks in September. Very interesting and quite an adventure getting parts and help with your breakdown. It is now the evening of Saturday, September 17. I hope that you will be on your way with no further disruptions.
We had an unusually cool, but dry August and early September. Our air conditioning in our home never once came on this year as the temperature in the house never exceeded 75 degrees F. We had a few days that were sunny with temps in the high 80s but it cooled off to less than 60 each night. So we're now getting prepared for cool and rainy days for the next several months.
I've really enjoyed following you via your posts. Maybe we'll connect in person sometime this coming winter or spring.
