We left Prince Rupert on Tuesday morning and drove to Terrace.
Again, the scenery was awesome.
We made arrangements to meet a mechanic from Fountain Tire at the Meziadin Campground the next day.
Spent the night in a motel and the next day drove 160 miles to the CG. We got the trailer ready to go by the time the mechanic came. He came with a service truck so he had all the tools he needed (generator, jacks, etc).
Here are a couple of pictures of the broken spring.
He finished up in about 1 1/2 hours and then left. We got the trailer hooked up to the truck and left around 2 PM. We took it slow the first several miles and then drove at about 50-55 the remainder of the way.
We got back to Mountain Tire about 5 PM and had the new tire put on the trailer and the spare put back underneath the trailer.
We had an electrical problem that we/they couldn't solve that night so we left all our our fish in a freezer at the tire shop. Another night in a hotel.
On Thursday we drove to an RV park and got setup. I had called a mobile RV repair man and he was going to come over in the afternoon. In the meantime, we met two couples next to us, and, after telling them our story, they helped us with our electrical problem. Turns out that it was the electrical cord (50 to 30 amp connector) that was bad. If we just used the 50 amp cord, we had power!! Problem solved!!
So, we picked up our fish and it's all back in our freezer.
We decided that, after our latest adventure, it was time for some rest and relaxation. So we are staying at this campground until tomorrow, Monday, when we will start our journey east toward Prince George, BC.
