Here are a few miscellaneous pictures from around the area.
Interesting cloud formation in the sky over the mountains on the other side of Cook Inlet. Almost looks like a volcano eruption but then has that spiral out to the left.
Interesting house along Cook Inlet.
A view of one of the mountains across the inlet.
The 4th of July holiday here in Homer included a parade that started at the High School. We had excellent seats.
However, the parade started at the bottom of the hill.
So, we moved down here. Judy and Chris are sitting on the rocks.
No late night fireworks here in Homer (doesn't get dark enough!!).
Saturday, the 5th, we drove up to Ninilchek to see a Russian Orthodox Church and to go to a rodeo.
This cross is found on all the graves in the cemetery.
Chris and Bob...
And us. (Julie, notice that I don't need a jacket!!!!).
And here we are at the rodeo.
Miss Ninilchek rodeo queen (2013-2014) crowning the 2014-2015 queen (on the right).
At the beginning they brought out all those who were participating in one way or another.
A few highlights. This rider had a helmut on because he was a teen rodeo rider.
Near the end of the rodeo, there was bull riding. This was the last one to be ridden, and, apparently he didn't like the long wait. It took them awhile to get him calmed down so that the cowboy could get on.
And, when they did finally let him out, the cowboy was off in about 2 seconds!!
It was a fun day. The rodeo was great. The stands were full. The sun was shining. And Judy got burned by the wind and the sun.
On our way back to Homer, we took a picture of this house/lighthouse in Ninilchek.
And the end of the day in Homer...
