We did take our first fishing trip on Tuesday, the 8th. Went out the day before to check out where our boat would be.
The SUNDY is our boat.
Got up at 5:15 AM, picked up Bob and Chris at 6 and drove to the Spit and the boat docks. Got checked in and are ready for a great day on the water - left the dock at 7 - weather is perfect.
Mt. Redoubt in the distance - so majestic.
The halibut fishing rules have changed this year. You can still catch only two fish, but one must be 29 inches or less. The other one can be any size.
Judy is working on bringing in her fish.
Check out how calm the water is!!
When fishing time is over, the deck hands filet all of the fish on the way back.
Our 4 fish weighed about 25 lbs after filleting.
Trip back to the dock - it was an outstanding day!
