Sorry for not posting sooner, but it has been a little hectic since we left Post, TX.
We did head North toward Clovis, NM, but along the way we came across this town. Thought it was kinda korny so took a picture of the city sign.
We did get to Clovis, NM only to find out that the wind was coming from WSW at about 21 MPH. Since we were turning to go West, it was of some concern. So we continued on until it was time to turn North to go to I-40 and Santa Rosa. On I-40 the winds got stronger - 35+MPH. Now that is a concern. But we plowed forward. Somewhere along the way we pulled over into a rest area. Alot of trucks were there as well; I guess to take a break from the wind. After about an hour (and a short snooze!) we noticed some of the trucks pulling out, so we followed them. It did seem like the wind had died down some.
About 30 minutes later, the snow started.
Luckily, about an hour later it stopped and we had these skies and wind was back.
Of course, where there is snow, there is Judy taking a picture!!
We did finally make it to Albuquerque and our campground which is on the West side of town and on top of a big hill. Where it is windy as all get out!!
Anyway, we got the trailer unhooked, slides out and electric hooked up. I did try to get our water hose hooked up, but it was getting dark and hard to see. But I thought I got it done.
The next day was sunny but COLD. When I looked out a window, I saw this:
I tried several times to get reconnected but could not do it. I think I need a new connection on the trailer - will get one at Camping World which is next door to the CG.
We did go down into town and did some shopping at Walmart and got gas and came back the CG to hunker down for the night. The skies cleared and the temp was going to drop into the mid teens. Fortunately, our propane heater and electric heater kept us warm all night (although they never shut off!).
Better travels on Friday...
