We left Albuquerque on Friday on a cold morning, but the winds had died down and travel was good. These pictures are along I-40 on the way to Gallup, NM.
Hard to tell, but this was a 6% downhill grade. If you are pulling a trailer, you take notice of these signs.
We got off I-40 at Gallup and made our way over to US191 which would take us up to Monument Valley. Along the way we got up around 7,000 feet so guess what was along side the road??
These are the types of rock formations you see in Monument Valley except that there are many more.
This is Najavo country and a beautiful drive north. About 3/4's of the way we stopped at the Najavo Lutheran Mission and School. The choir director from our church in Plano works here now along with her husband. If you remember, last year we stopped here as well, but it was later in the year and they were on Spring Break.
We didn't get away too early because, by the time we got to our CG in Monument Valley, the office was closed. But, there was someone waiting for us to tell us what site we were on. When got to it, it turned out to be short, and not something we could even level our trailer on. So we just picked another site. Not like it's busy up here this time of year! Only 4 other campers.
We got unhooked and set up and had a nice evening (temps in the teens again).
More about Monument Valley later...

Hoping all is well with your water hose. Also hope the winds are dying down for your travels. Makes for stressful driving, I'm sure.
