Anyway, here we are - we started our travels today and are now in a small campground in Post, TX. Where is that you say? Well, it is about 40 miles south of Lubbock, TX. We came across I-30 from Dallas which hooked up to I-20 somewhere past Ft. Worth. By the time we passed the Abilene exit, the wind had picked up, and, of course, our MPG went down. But we did average out to 10 MPG.
When we got to Sweetwater, we stopped for diesel and were pleasantly surprised that it was $2.49.
One thing we have learned about West Texas over the years is that the wind is always in your face, oil wells abound, and there are a plethora of wind turbines, and finally cotton fields.
We are here for one night and then on to Albuquerque for a couple of nights.
