On Monday we went back into the Park and went in a different direction. Found a turn out for this canyon
There were some people that walked down to the canyon floor but we did not.
More scenery along the way.
We came to an area on the western side of the park with information about the early days here.
Visitors' Center. Alot of campers were here as their CG was just down the road.
We drove further to meet up with the river again.
We walked out to that sandbar (above) and Judy waded in. She can now claim that she has waded into water at the highest point in the US (Arctic Ocean) and now one of the lowest points in the Southern US.
Here she was in 2011.
And high mountainous cliffs on the other side.
Same canyon from a distance. According to the sign, that canyon is some 8 miles long.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Park and don't know why we didn't come over here sooner (lived in Texas for 30 years), but now we can say that we made it!!
