Our stay in Mesa is over already. We are now in Tucson for 9 days. As we got closer, we came up to mountains. Fortunately, we didn't have to go over them!
We found our CG which is on the East side of Tucson. Very nice CG with large sites. This is the view from our back window.
We came to Tucson for 2 reasons. Number 1 is to see another Oregon State basketball game with Mikayla. They played U. of Arizona on Sunday afternoon.
The game was exciting as they played to a tie and then two OT's before Oregon State finally pulled it out and won 65-60.
Mikayla did come out after the game and we talked with her for awhile and then had our picture taken. She was high scorer with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Now the regular season is over for them and they start the playoffs. They are ranked #3 in their conference so they won't play until Friday. Hopefully since we get Phoenix TV stations, we will get to see them.
The second reason we are here in Tucson is to see some college baseball games.
My cousin, Becky and her husband Jerry, who live in Minnesota, have a son who plays for St. Cloud State, and, they are down here for the week playing ball. The staduim is only about 5 miles from us so it is very confenient. Their first game was Monday afternoon.
Apparently, the games are not well attended so we had our choice of seats. Jerry and daughter Makayla and girlfriend (to Matt) are here alreay to watch the games. We found them down by the dugout and sat with them. Basically had to introduce ourselves since we have not seen them for several years.
Their son, Matt, plays third base here.
And at bat...
They got an 11 to 2 lead but then had to hang on for a 11 to 8 win. It was rather hot in the sun, but when the sun went behind the stadium, it got cool. But we survived.
We plan to go to another game tomorrow, Thursday. Gary and Shirl (Becky's brother) are coming down from Mesa. And Becky and another daughter, McKensie, will be here as well. So it should be a fun time.
