4th Canadian Stop - Prince George, BC

Today is Thursday, the 19th and we are now in Dawson Creek, BC for a couple of days.

We did spend two nights in Prince George.  We did arrive there late (around 6 PM) and got set up.  While setting up, Judy saw snow (I said it can't be because it is 60 degrees!!).  Well, she proved me wrong and brought me some!

I guess they have had snow almost every day this winter and it really piled up, as you can see.

Our second day in Prince George was uneventful - it got cold -30's and it rained again.  We did go to the grocery store and stock up on a few things. This was a 'Sav-On Grocery Store' and it was very nice.  We couldn't believe all the bulk foods that they had.  And this was only one isle!!  (Steve - you would have gotten lost in here!!).

We left on Wednesday morning and drove north and east to Dawson Creek.  Along the way, we went drove thru Chetwynd (which is the first town eastbound travelers encounter after emerging from the Canadian Rockies along Highway 97 and acts as the gateway to the Peace River Country.  Here are MANY moutain pictures - every time we went around a curve, something new popped up for us:

                                   Lake is still frozen:

And then we come out of the mountains and the road leads to Chetwynd:

More later...
