Burlington is just below the I89 sign - Took Highway 2 which you can see on the map. When we crossed over into NY, the checkpoint to go into Canada was on our right.
Traveled down Interstate 87 for several miles and then found our highway that would take us to Lake Placid.
As usual, the scenery along the way was beautiful.
At one point we climbed a long way (said a couple prayers that the engine wouldn’t overheat!!) and we made it to our CG.
Had some doubts about sites but finally did decide on these two.
The couple that own the CG just bought it last year and are gradually making improvements. They brought out a new picnic table for us and also a brand-new fire pit.
Driving into Lake Placid you get your first glimpse of the enormous Olympic ski slides.
Got a picture of the backside of the slides as well.
Pulled into a parking area there and across the street equestrian competition was taking place.
Found the Lake Placid museum that was all about the Olympics in 1932 and 1980.
(No, it wasn't that cold outside!!!).
Two ice rinks are housed here – one from the 1932 Olympics and one from 1980 when the US won gold.

They have a display of many of the torches that have been carried at the OLympics throughout the years.
Got back to the CG, had supper, and then sat out by the fire and had s’mores of course!!
Judy found a daisy under the trailer so it became part of her flower/cactus display on the table.
Ray and Karen left early on Saturday morning because Ray was coming down with something and wanted to get home before he got too sick to drive.
So Judy and I drove back into Lake Placid walked the streets of downtown and actually saw "Lake Placid."
Another church.
The rink in the foreground was for the ice skating competition.
Of course we did find a brewery, almost directly across from the slides, and, therefore, appropriately named!
The John Brown Farm is located here in Lake Placid.
We thought he was part of the Civil War which took place in the south, but found out that he actually was from here. Here are the specifics:
Our final night at the CG.
