With Larry, Jacky, and Hannah in MA

On Monday, the 11th, we left Lake Placid and drove to Monson, MA. to a campground (Sunset Farms Campground) that we stay at when visiting with Larry (JR), Jacky, and Hannah.  We drove into Belchertown and went out to dinner with them.
During the week, Larry was in Farmington, CT working, Jacky now works at a psychiatrist’s office, and Hannah works at a dog grooming place so we visited when we could.
In the meantime, I took the truck in for service on Tuesday since I had an oil leak.  They gave me a ride back to the CG because they said it wouldn’t be done that day.  Later in the day they called to say that the manifold cover was leaking and parts had to be ordered.  When I called on Wednesday, they were still waiting on parts.  On Thursday they had the parts but it the service person said it probably wouldn’t be done that day because “they were very busy and it was hot!!!”  HOT??  Why would I need to know that – management should be addressing that problem with fans and/or AC!!  I lied and said that I had to be in Minnesota on Monday and I was already two days behind!!  The only comment was that they would work on it.
On Friday morning I called about the status and was told that it should be done late today.  SHOULD??  Anyway, I was about to call again at 3 PM and they called and said it was ready.
So I did get it repaired and it no longer leaks oil, but you can be certain that I will never go there again for any reason!!  Since then I have received three emails requesting my experience.  The last email was actually from a person and in her email, she had my address wrong and talked about them looking out for a new Ford F350 SRW GAS truck for me.  My truck happens to be a diesel.   (I think she was a salesperson!!!).  So I did respond and I’m sure they won’t be happy.  I will wait for a response and if I am still not happy, I might post something on YELP.
Now that I have that off my chest --- we did have a very nice time with L, J, and H.  On Friday night we went out to dinner with Jacky and a coworker, Barb, and Hannah.  Afterwards, we saw where Jacky works.  On the way home we saw a mama bear and cub cross the road in front of us.  It happened to so fast we couldn’t get a picture.
On Saturday Jacky, Hannah, and Judy and I drove down to Manchester, CT to UCONN where they were having a K9 Olympics Event.

Watched several trainers and their dogs responding to commands such as: jumping over or through things, jumping thru car windows, and attacking a person.

This was the 25th year of this event and several people/businesses were donors for that period of time.  Larry was there to accept the award for Bozzuto's which is where he works.  He is on the far right.

They also had a booth there promoting Dream Ride.

And a chance to win a motorcycle.

If you get a chance, look up this website.  Larry is very involved in it.

From there we drove over to Farmington, CT to see the exhibit going on at the Polo Grounds (which is where Dream Ride will take place in August).

This was their first year here so attendance wasn’t very good, but it was interesting.

A couple more pictures of the polo grounds.

In the evening Jacky’s parents, Mike and Nancy Canter came up from Old Saybrook, CT to have dinner with us.

Went to a nice restaurant that dates back.

Sunday afternoon Jacky, Hannah, and her friend, Kaleb, came to the CG and we went swimming in the pond.

I swear, this 'tube' took up half the pond!!

Later Larry arrived, after the exhibit closed down, and had supper with us over the fire.  They left and went back home to Belchertown.

On Monday morning Larry went back to work at the Farmington Polo Grounds.  We drove into Belchertown and did our laundry while Jacky and Hannah worked.  I also mowed the lawn since Larry has not been home long enough to do it.  In the evening we went out to dinner with Jacky, Hannah, and Kaleb at the Texas Roadhouse in Hadley.

Later we said our goodbyes to them and drove back to the CG for the night.
