Burlington, VT

Burlington, VT. is just up the road from Shelburne so we did not have to move from our campground.  We found the Chocolate Factory.

They didn't provide tours, but we did hear about where their chocolate comes from, how they process it, and had samples of the candies that they make.

We were able to look into the factory and watch the employees work.
I was surprised that their distribution covered the entire US but that they only employed 13 people in the factory making the chocolates.
Free samples, too!!  And, of course, we bought some for later!

In the afternoon we drove about 30 minutes to take a tour of the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory.  Unbelievable crowds of people.

Must have been at least a 1,000 people at any given time!!  We got there at 3:00 and the next tour available was at 4:30!!  Too long a wait for us!!  The line just to get an ice cream cone, etc. was extremely long so we just opted to buy a pint of ice cream and find a place to eat it!!  Did find 4 Adriondack chairs under some trees so we ate some of it there and then headed back to the CG.

On Thursday evening (last evening in Vermont) we drove into downtown Burlington for dinner at this restaurant.

Nice view of the harbor (hahbah in New England dialect!!) and Lake Champlain.

Sunset:

University of Vermont is located here in Burlington.

It was another enjoyable stay.
