Two Harbors, MN - Tall Ships Rally 5

On Friday most of us took a train ride from downtown Duluth north for a few miles.

Our group here.

Our group had the last car so we got to watch where we have been!

The next several pictures were taken along the way.

At the farthest most point the engine had to come to the back of the train for the return trip.

The train depot had a museum as well.  Many relics in here.

They also had some shops reflecting days gone by.

Huge snow blower.

Engine compartment of one of the biggest engines there.

On April 21, 1865, a train carrying the coffin of assassinated President Abraham Lincoln leaves Washington, D.C. on its way to Springfield, Illinois, where he would
be buried on May 4. The train carrying Lincoln’s body traveled through 180 cities and seven states on its way to Lincoln’s home state of Illinois. Scheduled stops
for the special funeral train were published in newspapers.

This is the car.

Coffin.

Bed where the embalmer slept.

Other cars depicted the place settings in the dining cars.

Mail car.

There were a couple of model train exhibits in the museum.  I couldn't get better pictures, but they were amazing.

Another great day in Two Harbors/Duluth.
